ONE MONTH UNDER MY BELT...as opposed to over!:
Good morning everyone...I did the weigh-in this morning. I lost another 4.5 pounds this week which brings the total to 24.5 pounds! Both the Sarge and I are thrilled with the results but also keeping in mind the weight was expected to come off fairly easy at the beginning. I have stuck to the same routine over the last four weeks regarding my food intake and exercise routine. To be honest there has been some tough parts at the beginning but things are becoming easier and some of the aches and pains are on the mend. Speaking of pains, the Sarge ordered me a brace for my right knee. I went to pick it up yesterday (The Medicine Shop) to try it on...it was way too large! I was speaking to the person at the desk and they had to order this brace in special because of what the Sarge had told them...she must think I'm part elephant! This thing almost went around me twice! Anyways, just so everyone knows...I have normal size legs. The store will be ordering in a "normal" size brace for me. Something that will actually be in stock. As in the words of the Elephant Man..."I am not an amimal"... I think I need to book in some therapy sessions.
Yesterday the Sarge and i were doing our famous crab walk in the parking lot of Bodilogix. We then would walk backwards...the Sarge seems more comnfortable going backwards. Anyways one of our fellow gym members called it the Bodilogix Line Dancing. I get no respect.
I also got a message from the Regional Coroner, Dr. Peter Clark, via one of my co-workers. Being the smartass he normally is Dr. Clark said to tell me that he was very proud of what I was doing and now the Coroners Office can cancel the retainer they had for a crane! (did I mention therapy?) It's a good thing I'm not sensitive...he also knows that I will get him back. These little barbs have been going on between us for twenty years and i think I'm still winning.
As I close in to the magical number of getting below the 300 mark I was thinking of what i could do to celebrate that momentous occassion. First thing through my mind was to sit down and have a few pints (nectar of the gods) and partake in a few slices of pizza. You know the kind that are prepared with pepparoni that has been made by some Italian Mama in her kitchen, cheese from Sicily and mushrooms that are so fresh that they come from the Land of the Hobbits (I haven't thought about this much). I'll probably have a protein shake...I'm living on the edge baby!
ZEN:
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead.
Do not walk in front of me, for I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me either,
just pretty much leave me the hell alone!
The Sarge.
Signing off,
Big Dave
