Ohhhhh the Pain:

Good morning folks,

I had a very sore Sunday! My right knee gave out on me and I couldn't walk for most of the day. I spent the afternoon in the Lazy Boy chair watching a movie and treating the knee with an ice pack and some Advil. This particular knee has given me troubles in the past but never this bad, I was actually getting concerned! It was running (that's a funny term) through my mind that I was going to have to do the forced marches with the Sarge in a wheel chair! But when i woke up this morning it was only slightly sore and I was able to complete my workout. I told the Sarge about my little injury, she looked at me with a look that said "suck it up princess". So off we went through our normal strolls through the hills but this time she increased the exercises! that's the last time I tell her I'm sore! Her excuse was that the exercises she was having me do would help strengthen my quads which will take some of the pressure off my my knees...I'll believe her ...for now.

Talking about soreness, I have some shin splints going on. The Sarge called this injury something like carpel tunnel. Now I know I've made some spelling errors on my blog but I don't type with my feet! Maybe the Sarge could explain shin splints because I know I'll get it wrong.

On Saturday night I was preparing a very healthy dinner, chicken and salad, yummy. Instead of only feeding four that night my other son, Kevin Demattos, was over and I suddenly realized I didn't have enough chicken. What makes this even worse, Rick was telling Kevin what great healthy dinners I've been preparing lately and that he should check it out. So desperate measures call for desperate action, I looked in the freezer and behold...three Lean Cuisine's! They were the salmon and basil selection. I prepared the meals and put them on plates like I had made them. I told the boys that we didn't have enough chicken but I went through the extra effort to prepare this great salmon dinner just for them...they were so appreciative, until they started eating. I wish I had a camera as they were both being very polite but it was obvious they hated it! The more they ate the more I talked about what it took to make that dinner. When they were done they were told the truth, you should have seen them...sometimes I kill myself. Along the same lines as this story, Rosie and I host a lot of family dinners such as Christmas. I keep on thinking how much fun it would be to host the family Christmas Dinner and serve Swanson's TV Dinners! It would be hilarious! The only thing that has stopped me so far is the fear of Rosie! I thought I would share that idea and see if somebody else is fearless enough to play that joke...let me know how it works for you, or not!

The Sarge and I have some more interviews to do tomorrow, this time with the Star and the Breeze radio stations...it's all good.

Well folks it's time to wrap this one up but not until I leave you with another gem;
"Change your thoughts and you change your world ". Norman Vincent Peale.

Have a good one!
Dave

    Thanks for feeding that other son of yours. If he complains about my cooking I can now threaten him with your cooking :-)
    See you at the Bodilogix counter tomorrow for dinner.
