The Missle has been Launched:
This morning we had the big media launch and i think it went over very well! The two local papers and the radio station attended so hopefully the word will get out there on what we are trying to accomplish. The location for the launch was at Bodilogix and it looked wonderful. A breakfast bar was put out (free) loaded with all kinds of healthy foods and treats. Heck the food was so healthy I couldn't name half of it!
It was also nice to meet Robert Biron again ( the big cheese, the top dog, the boss of bosses) from the hospital and his very lovel wife Doris. What a great couple and very supportive of this adventure...Big Bob and Doris pledged $10 a pound if I make it to 100 or $5 a pound if i fall short. All I can say is get the wallet ready Big Bob! They were so supportive they wanted me to start running marathons with them! At first i thought that was a nice gesture then i got thinking...maybe their trying to knock me off before they have to pay up! Makes one wonder doesn't it...
Also on hand for the launch were my dear friends Tita, Kim and Trevor Demattos...I could feel the love as they rushed by to get to the free breakfast! It was one of those fleeting love moments. Actually they are great folks and I know I have their support as they would have mine if the tables were turned.
Of course the other part of the team was there, Rhonda and John from the hospital. They seemed much more reserved and respectful today...could it be the presence of Big Bob that stiffled their usual unruly and rebellious styles!? Wondering minds want to know...
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Sarge and her hubby Dave (the normal one), they put on a great spread and atmosphere for the launch! It was really well done but i did notice that everyone was offered protein shakes except me! The Sarge is always on the job...
I also need to thank my wife Rosie and my daughter Carlie-Ann for attending; my whole family has been very supportive. Unfortunately my son Richard wasn't able to make it because of work commitments but I know he was there in spirit. I can't say anything snide about them as I have to live with them...but we'll talk later.
Anyways folks I started my 10th day this morning of my remodel...so far I have lost 12.5 pounds! I greet the news with excitment but also reservation...the weight always comes off quicker at the beginning. I haven't reached the true challenge yet, when the weight doesn't drop and I become frustrated and discouraged...that's when the beast must be met head on. Some might say that 12.5 pounds is only a drop in a bucket or I've released internal gaseous vapors in that amount before ( I may have the solution to the world energy crisis) but I think it's a step in the right direction.
I'll leave you with a few words from an ancient philosopher and warrior..."Do or do not...there is no try"...Master Yoda.
Take care my friends, only 87.5 pounds to go!
Hey Dave I was there too, I've even posted a link to your blog on my newspaper, so you're in the blogosphere now you have to finish.

The town is happy that you've decided to lighten up a bit. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHello Dave,
ReplyDeleteDoris and I were pleased to meet you at the launch. The event was a lot of fun, especially when you were given that bright pink (...no wait...may be it was lime green?) t-shirt from Bodilogix. lol
For those people that couldn't attend the launch, there is no doubt that Dave is very serious about achieving his goal. There may be sceptics out there...but our money's on Dave...all the way. He won't fail!
Robert
Dave, it was was fun meeting and walking with you (in the parade).
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow Logix Bodi I am certain to see at the "academy" and will be sure to cheer you on. It will only be a matter of time before we become better acquainted... your sergeant (AJ) knows me well as I can be a bit of a rebel! I am sure you will stay on the straight and narrow... well...the narrow is yet to come! ;)
Great idea and mission. All involved will benefit and even those who only follow from a distance may be encouraged to change to a healthier lifestyle. You will never know how far reaching the impact of this challege will be.
...it is not the destination it's the journey... ENJOY!
