GETTING DOWN WITH MY PRIMAL SELF:
I faced a really big test over the weekend...I attended a Jack and Jill for a young lady (Amy Scowcroft) who is very close to our hearts. She's adorable and lovable and is marrying a fine young gentlemen by the name of Kyle Curtis. They truly make a great couple and I'm looking forward to their wedding in September. Anyways, enough of the sentimental stuff, it was tough being there with everyone having a few wobbly pops and digging into the wonderful buffet! Man, did it look good but I was able to control myself especially after being told by one of the people in the crowd they were watching me! The Sarge has spies everywhere...
Since my last blog I've had two more workouts with the Sarge. Last Saturday I entered the gym and in my normal jovial style wished the Sarge a good morning. She looked at me and actually asked how I was feeling! Thinking that this was a turning point and that our relationship was starting to improve I went for it...I said I was peachy keen and okey dokey, of course with a big dumb smile on my face. The Sarge replied " I'll change that", and... the workout begun...
When i look back on that exchange i really should be happy...the Sarge actually spoke two complete sentences to me...wow!
Every time I walk into the gym something comes over me...almost a spiritual revelation. I immediately think of the following Psalm..."Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil"...very interesting indeed.
Over the last two weeks my work outs have been in the gym proper...remember my knee problem. The Sarge has me doing what's called the "Primal Pattern Movement training"...fancy shmancy I must say. I'm not sure but i think she's calling me a Neanderthal...do you think? I'll leave the explanation to this PPMT for the Sarge to explain...her blogs are missing quality content as it is.
We are just entering week 4 and i can report I have noticed some significant improvements! Even things such as getting out of cars is much easier...believe me weighing in at 336 pounds and getting out of a Sunfire can be a challenge. Also I have noticed a difference in my cardio which is evident in my workouts but also just in my daily activity. I'm definitely going in the right direction.
I had a very powerful and gratifying experience on the weekend. I was just coming out of the gym and a young lady pulled up in the parking lot. We exchanged morning pleasantries and to my surprise she also told me that she had been following my challenge and it inspired her to join the gym! All I can say is wow!
I'll leave you with the following;
Here's to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!
That would make a good sobriety test!
Signing off,
Big Dave

Read this Dave, it can be done. I see this guy each time I go to LV. Unfortunately the more he loses the wight the less claim he has on the nickname.
