LONG LIVE THE...BUTT:

Another Monday is here and we "inch" closer to Thursday....did you get it??!! As I sit here "pounding" away at my computer (har, har, har) I have to reflect on what has happened over the last three months. It's been quiet the journey with it's ups and downs, highs and lows, peaks and valleys you might say (okay...I'm just going for the word count on this one). The Sarge and I started off on doing just a simple walk then doing some basic moves in Butterball Park and then we moved indoors to the gym. The Sarge has taken me a long way from where I started...it is really amazing me to think about it! I've been introduced to new exercises and to old ones. Some of the old ones I have learned I was doing them wrong in the first place so i wasn't getting the full benefit of them. I highly recommend, that everyone no matter there fitness level invest in a personal trainer...believe me it will pay off dividends. It doesn't mean that you have to have one every day but even to check in with one once in awhile to make sure you're on the right track. You take your car to a mechanic so why not your body?!

During the weekend I went for another hike in the Northumberland Forest...this time Rosie came with me. I checked out the "Red Trail" and it was actually very good, not as much poison ivy and it was only 2.5 km in length. The trail had some nice hills and views and i would recommend that one if anyone was thinking of going out there. Amazingly I didn't get lost...of course Andrea and Dave weren't there; coincidence...I think not! Rosie did very well considering some of her limitations and wants to do that again.

I told the Sarge this morning about the hike. She asked why I didn't tell her, she would have gone. Do I really have to answer that one....really? Alright, I didn't have enough time to get supplies for a week and get pack mules...okay.

This morning the Sarge introduced me to a new exercise...yuck! I had to lay on the floor with one foot on a step, then I had to raise my butt off the floor while my other leg was suspended in mid air. Not only is that a painful visual but it was a painful exercise! My hamstrings were killing me...I'm going to have leg cramps for the next four hours! The first time I winced in pain the Sarge asked me..."you know what that means?" I said yes, I'm done. She said nope, that means your hamstrings need work so that means more reps! I should have learned this by now...hide the pain...she just likes that way too much!

We also did the step ups today but my right leg was giving me a bit of a problem. So the Sarge wanted to play a game. Every time I stepped up i had to come up with a different name for the butt! She said I was using my knee instead of my butt and that's why it was hurting. So off we go rhyming them off...butt, ass, backside, junk in the trunk and so on. Unfortunately young Kate was only one machine away and had to listen to this scientific experimentation on verbalizing, thus focusing, on a specific part of the anatomy...that being the booty. Young Kate didn't stay too long after that...I wonder why?

Did you know that the clinical term for hairy buttocks is "daysypgal"? So, If someone comes up to you and says they just been to the doc for a bad case of daysypgal now you know. You could be a good friend and offer them razor or some Neat...that's just being friendly that's all.

Last Saturday morning during my workout, the Sarge had asked a photographer (Angie) to come in and take some shots. I was told that Angie was going to take some shots of the gym and would get a few shots of me for the Challenge. Again I was lied to! Angie followed me around the whole time...she was a paparazzi!! She was taking shots from so many different angles that now I'm worried! I'm sure they'll sell well on the Internet. I told Angie that I better have final approval, she assured me I would...while laughing. Some how I think not...that was more of an evil laugh. I know this is going to turn into another embarrassing moment for Big Dave!

Big Dave...out!
