Hi folks,
I just completed my first week with the Sarge! So far so good...one step at a time and one day at a time. It's been difficult to get this rust bucket moving again but I'm actually starting to see some results already, mind you just little ones, but little is good! I'm still sore when I finish the workouts but i think my endurance has increased, slightly.
The Sarge has been taking me on these so called "field trips" consisting of walking, some push ups against hydro poles ( I heard reports that the neighbourhood TV's were flickering) and some lunges...I never knew the butt had muscles, I know now as they announce their anger this morning!
The Sarge was also talking to me this morning about the meaning of life (Pizza and beer) and visualization. All good things but I didn't retain much as I was just trying to breath, it was a matter of survival! Fortunately she's going to e-mail me all the stuff she talked about today because right now it's all in a haze.
This Thursday is the big media launch, pretty excited about that...i just hope it generates enough interest to support our goal of raising funds for the hospital.
It's all good my friends!

Congratulations Dave! Good to see you have a sense a humour. That's going to help you along the way, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that you are not only taking this personal challenge, but you are sharing your experiences with others. As a leader in our community, you are setting a great example for others to take personal action to improve their own health. I hope you motivate and inspire others to follow in your foot steps (literally!).
To kick-off your fundraising, my wife, Doris, and I are pledging $5/lb that you lose, and if you hit your target of losing the entire 100 lbs or more, then our pledge will increase to $1,000.
I encourage others to support Dave in his “adventure” by cheering him on, by setting your own personal health goals, and by pledging Dave to give him that extra motivation to meet his goal.

Bravo Dave!!
ReplyDeleteI am awed by your decision to lose 100 pounds in a year, and even more impressed by the fact that you are doing it as a fundraiser for the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
I know first hand how difficult it can be to lose weight. I am joining you in this effort by also losing the weight I’ve been carrying for many years. I pledge to donate $2. for every pound I lose to your worthy cause. As a member of Bodilogix, I am on my way to a healthier, more active self. Sarge Andrea is aware of this pledge and will be keeping me in line.
Unfortunately I can't make it to the official launch, but will be sending a representative:-)
